SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT
Environmental protection is an important aspect in every procurement of material and equipment. We bank on using effective means of production with an emphasis on saving resources and, at the same time, keeping costs for our customers low.
As a print shop, naturally, we work with paper. This is made mainly from wood fibres and is thus based on a renewable resource. However, with forests also being the basis of life for humans and animals, it is important to preserve them for future generations. For this reason, we give preference to purchasing certified paper from sustainable forestry. To this end, we cooperate with various organisations that guarantee the sustainable use of natural resources.
FSC®
An example for FSC® certified paper at Onlineprinters is our 170 g/m² "FSC® mix" art print paper. It consists of a combination of material from FSC® certified fibres and "FSC® Controlled Wood". The "Forest Stewardship Council" (FSC®) is an international non-profit organisation which created, enforces and continues to develop the first system for the certification of sustainable forestry. At the same time, the term "FSC®" is used synonymously for the certification system or the product seal that marks wood products from FSC®certified forestry. The FSC® system for the certification of forestry was created to safeguard the sustainable use of forests, which includes the preservation and improvement of the economic, ecological and social functions of forestry operations. For this purpose, FSC® has developed a general, transnational and uniform standard which is made up of ten principles and criteria, and can only be applied on a national level when all indicators are present.
PEFCTM
Our offer includes 90 g/m² art print paper in matte or glossy finish which is "PEFC™ 100 per cent" certified. The paper used thus contains 100 per cent "PEFC™ certified material from trees of sustainable forestry. 90 g/m² is characterised by a smooth surface and excellent image rendition and is one of our most popular paper types on account of its attractive price-performance ratio.
The "Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes" (PEFC) is an international forest certification system. It is the world's largest independent organisation for the safeguarding and continuous improvement of sustainable forestry ensuring ecological and economic standards.
