Data Privacy Statement

We are delighted about your interest in our online shop. Protecting your privacy is very important to us. Below you will find detailed information on how we will handle your data.

1. Access data and hosting

You can visit our websites without providing any personal data. Each time you call a website, the web server just automatically saves a so-called server log file, which contains, for example, the name of the requested file, your IP address, date and time of the call, the amount of transmitted data, and the requesting provider (access data) and documents the call.

These access data are analysed for the purpose of ensuring failure-free operation of the website and improving our offer. This serves to safeguard our – within the scope of a weighing of interests – overriding legitimate interests in a correct presentation of our offer pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 s. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Google AJAX Search API

For the purpose of a shorter loading time for some contents of our online presence, we additionally use the so-called Google AJAX Search API, which coordinates the provisioning of the individual contents of the website for a better performance. This serves to safeguard our – within the scope of a weighing of interests – overriding legitimate interests in an optimized presentation of our offer pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 s. 1 lit. f GDPR. Thus, access data are created on Google’s web servers, too, when our website is called.

Google LLC is headquartered in the USA and certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield. A current certificate is available here. Due to this agreement between the USA and the European Commission, the latter has established an adequate level of data protection for companies certified under the Privacy Shield.

All access data will be erased seven days after the end of your site visit at the latest.

Geolocalisation

Besides, the country from which you call up our website will be determined based on your IP address in order to redirect you to an offer tailored to your location and language where appropriate. This serves to safeguard our – within the scope of a weighing of interests – overriding legitimate interests in a need-oriented design of our online presence pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 s. 1 lit. f GDPR.

The data processed here will be erased when you have closed your browser.
If redirection takes place, you will be informed thereof by means of a note in the upper part of the website. There you can object to the processing of your IP address with future effect by clicking the button. Then, a cookie will be set in your browser which will prevent this processing in the future. For more detailed information on cookies, please refer to Section 7  of this data privacy statement.

Hosting services by a third-party supplier

Within the scope of processing on our behalf, a third-party supplier provides for us the services for hosting and presenting the website. This serves to safeguard our – within the scope of a weighing of interests – overriding legitimate interests in a correct presentation of our offer pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 s. 1 lit. f GDPR. All data collected within the use of this website or in forms provided for that in the online shop as described in the following are processed on its servers. Processing on other servers only takes place within the scope described here.

This service provider is based in a country of the European Union or the European Economic Area.

2. Collection and use of data for contract performance and when opening a customer account

We collect personal data when you give them to us voluntarily in the context of your order, when you contact us (e.g., by using the contact form or by e-mail), or when opening a customer account. Mandatory fields are identified as such since in these cases the data are absolutely necessary in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 s. 1 lit. b GDPR for contract performance or for processing your approach or opening the customer account and you cannot complete the order and/or account opening or send the contact form without stating them. Which data are collected in the particular case can be seen in the respective input forms. We will use the data submitted by you to perform the contract and to process your enquiries.

After complete performance of the contract or closing of your customer account, your data will be restricted for further processing and erased after the expiry of any legal retention periods,  unless you have expressly consented to continued use of your data or we reserve use of the data extending beyond this that is permitted by law and of which we inform you in this statement. Closing your customer account is possible at any time and can be done either by sending a message to the contact described below or by using the function provided for this purpose in the customer account.

3. Data transfer

For contract performance in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 s. 1 lit. b GDPR, we will transfer your data to the shipping company commissioned with the delivery, provided that this is necessary to deliver ordered products.  Within this process, we additionally commission a service provider to generate our shipping labels. This service provider is based inside the European Union or the European Economic Area.

This is also done in order to perform the contract pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 s. 1 lit. f GDPR. Sometimes the selected payment service providers collect these data themselves if you set up an account there. In this case you have to log in to the payment service provider with your access data in the ordering process. Then, the respective payment service provider’s data privacy statement will apply.

4. Use of data for payment handling
